The bassoon has one of the largest collections of alternate fingerings in the entire woodwind family. I remember feeling overwhelmed at times when I was first learning to memorize each fingering especially since the school books I used were not consistent in how they spelled them.
To help solve some of the frustrations that come with bad fingering charts, I have created my own based on my years of experience playing and teaching bassoon. These fingerings are the most common ones I use with my own students and I hope the success they have had will also come to you. If you ever have questions or comments about my suggested fingerings, please feel free to contact me.
